Over the past 5 years my life has been a whirlwind; becoming a Mum, setting up my own business, attending events, gala dinners, and amazing holidays. Diaries are too old school for me, so writing my blog is my way of documenting all my highs, lows, loves and loathes and taking you on a journey of my beautifully busy and hectic world being a Red Russianette!
After graduating with a PR and Business degree and working for Mary Portas at her London PR agency, it was time to fulfil one of my dreams of becoming an actress. I have been working as a professional actress on and off since I was 23 years old, appearing on TV shows such as Cracker, New Street Law, Diamond Geezer, Scott & Bailey and Coronation Street. In 2008 I landed a role in BBC drama Waterloo Road playing Celine Dixon at the age of 24 playing a 16 year old school girl, and yes I did look 16 with in headbands, no makeup and a gym skirt!
My three series of filming was a blast, appearing in numerous soap magazines and newspapers, but I missed my love for writing and working on the other side of the media. I started working freelance for celebrities and sports stars doing PR and events and instantly felt that this was my calling. There’s no better feeling than seeing your event or press release published in a national publication.
Two years later, building up my list of contacts and networking the heck out of Manchester, I set up Red Russian PR LTD in 2011. Everyone always asks me where I came up with my company name…red is my favourite colour, my first name ‘Zeriozha’ is Russian, and ‘Russian Red’ is my favourite lip gloss I can’t live without from MAC Cosmetics! Being a Red Russianette is amazing, it gives me access to celebrities, fashion labels, restaurants, and luxury products. This isn’t work, this is my passion!
I’ve travelled everywhere from New York, Milan, Dublin and Sweden, to name a few, and most definitely have a love for travel and culture. As long as I have my Louboutin’s and my laptop I can work anywhere, I have been lucky enough to tick a lot of countries off my bucket list.
I’m no stranger to picking up cultural mementos to bring home…Celine handbags from New York, Louboutin’s from Dubai, and Louis Vuitton from Rome….yes I am sucker for labels. Fashion is my guilty pleasure, from my Victoria Secrets underwear to my Fendi coats, I love to live in luxe. That didn’t change when I found I was expecting my first little bambino in October 2013. My little bundle of joy was the best news I’ve ever had. I was ecstatic to find out I has having a baby boy, which opened up a whole new obession of retail therapy. From White Company sleepsuits and blankets, to a new Mulberry Effie baby bag (for me!), and a Gucci snowsuit to wrap him up in for winter. I was fully loaded with lots of goodies for my little baby boy.
Rocco arrived at 11.25pm on 25th June 2014, after 22 hours of labour, and I was besotted. I am totally obsessed with him! Our little family was complete. A new home, a new baby and a booming business. Don’t get me wrong there was months of sleepless nights, forgetfulness, teething, nappy rashes, getting my body back and the rest. Multitasking homelife and mumlife is challenging and not a role that anyone should take for granted. But this is my story and I’m making memories every day. Welcome to my crazy world of juggling as many hats as I can manage and I hope you enjoy my journey!
