Baby Changing In Style

I have been hitting my head against a brick wall for so many months trying to find the perfect baby changing bag, or diaper bags as some brands call them. During my first pregnancy, I really struggled to find something, classy, trendy, and not covered in bright childlike prints.

I hunted in retail stores and searched the web for something that wasn’t just practical, but something that I would utilise long term. I didn’t know how challenging this task would be. Designer handbags are my luxury treat, always have been since I was 16 years old when I saved up and bought my first Gucci bag from Harvery Nichols in Leeds, up until this day I am proud to own a collection of handbags from Fendi, Celine, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo and Dior to name a few. So I wanted to save up for something that would be more of an investment piece.

When your a mummy to be, you have to sacrifice alcohol, partying, wearing midriff bearing tops and bandage dresses, its all about comfort, and most often than not dressing to cater for your ever changing body shape. I was saving money on not going out, drinking sexy cocktails, and spending my monthly salary on glamourous partywear, so it was time to treat myself to a new designer handbag for baby and me.

When I was pregnant with Rocco, I stumbled across the stunning but simple Mulberry ‘Effie’ bag, that was the perfect size for fitting in nappies, baby wipes, blankets and my make up bag! It came with a hand and shoulder strap, which was great for wearing as a handbag and also fit neatly around the baby buggy. Black would go with everything in my wardrobe and matched the Quinny Mood travel system, it was the perfect match. It has not only stayed with me every day since, but it now carries my laptop, files, and anything else I choose to throw in it on a daily basis.

My Mulberry bag is now ‘mine’ so baby no2 needed something new too. But the hunt and the struggle was on again. Everything on the market was either too babyish, too bland or way too expensive. Here are a few that I would recommend, depending on your budget;
