Since coming back from my latest holiday to Portugal, my skin was severely dehydrated. I have never been a huge fan of facials, just face wash and coco butter usually does the trick, but I think I needed a bit more help this time around.
I go to my beauty therapist twice a month for lash extensions and she had mentioned trying out the new AlumierMD facial peel. I was most certainly intrigued to see what results I would get, so I booked myself in at the Nicola Jay Academy in Cheadle. With my skin being dark, extreme facial peels can cause hyper-pigmentation, so I had the lightest peel available which started off with a cleanse, a light enzyme and detox peel which helps clear pollution build up in the skin. The detox peel works directly into the epidermis stimulating skin cells and allowing the skin to rehydrate and give it a radiant glow.
The treatment was 45 minutes and cost £65 per session. It was super relaxing which with my schedule over the past few weeks was a real treat! A moisturising balm is left on the skin to soak in overnight or as long as you can to get the best results. I woke up the next day feel fresh and my skin felt tightened yet supple. I had so many compliments on my skin that week, and I will most definitely be booking myself in again after my holiday to Las Vegas and LA as I am sure my skin will need a huge detox by then!
This month I also decided to try the new O2 facials at Fizique Clinic in the heart of Stockport. The clinic boasts hair extension expert, nail technicians, non surgical treatments and a range of different beauty services, including this facial I had heard so much about. I arrived at the clinic to a very warm, beautiful welcome from the owner Fiz who’s has practiced on the infamous Harley Street in London. My consultation was underway and my treatment began with a cleanse, and then the magic bit which consisted of wearing a facial cream that foams on your face and left on your skin for 15 mins so it gets to work deep into your pores reviving your cells by pumping oxygen back into your skin. The treatment cost £55 and was 45 minutes long which again was pure luxury for me.
It was then cleansed off and a moisturising balm left on my skin which was lightweight and non greasy. The good thing about this treatment is that they are perfect just before nights out, weekends away, or even on the day of a big event. Make up can be applied soon after as there is no need to keep the cream on, you can just head home and get glammed up with perfect skin straight away!
I was also lucky enough to be whisked away for my birthday by my best friend who had booked us a spa day at the beautiful Titanic Hotel & Spa in Huddersfield. We had a full day of walking in and out of the hot steam rooms, jacuzzi, indoor pool, and treated ourselves to a deep tissue massage. You can also book to stay overnight, but the day was perfect for me, and a great time to catch up with my girl in between our hectic lifestyles.
After my month of getting my skin back on track, the results have lasted so much longer than I anticipated. I will be heading back for both treatments in six weeks to make sure I keep up with my new skin regime and stay looking fresh for Summer!
