Usually at this time of the year, we head to our apartment in Marbella for 2 weeks of Summer holiday fun. Its all about the kids, jammed packed full of days out to keep their overactive minds occupied. This year with me being 9 months pregnant, we decided to stay local and venture to Ribby Village in Preston which was only less than an hour away in the car from Heaton Moor.
When we arrived at the stunning spa hotel I was super impressed by the hotel and didn’t expect it to be so luxurious. Everyone was walking around in spa robes and slippers looked uber relaxed and refreshed. However, we were promptly told upon checking in that it was an adults only hotel. Yes, you guessed it, Paul had failed to notice this when making the booking online, typical! The lovely receptionist managed to find us their last cottage on the complex and kindly wavered the extra charge for this.
We pulled outside the three bedroom, two bathroom cottage, which the kids were happy about because they each had a bedroom all to themselves. The kitchen and living area was all open plan which I loved because its my morning highlight making breakfast and chatting to the boys while I’m serving up morning treats.
We ventured out into the village in the 20 degree heat and sat outside a beautiful tapas restaurant booking in all the activities for the kids to enjoy for the next 4 days. With a two and nine year old, we split the day up so that they both had two activities a day each which ranged from PlayDoh Mania, Baby Ballet, Archery, Zorbing and Fencing to name a few. Every hour there was something for the children to do, including a kids disco and story rhyme time every evening. Every day was packed full of so many fabulous activities for the children, and they both experienced something new each day.
The complex is surrounded by a crazy golf course, nature trails, an animal farm yard, an indoor swimming pool and a soft play centre. If you fancy dropping the kids off in the creche for some adult quality time there is an eclectic mix of cafes and restaurants from American cuisine to Modern British and Spanish Tapas to enjoy.
I managed to squeeze in some spa treatments for some alone time at the Spa Hotel. I was slightly limited as to which treatments I could have so I opted for a full hour of the mummy to be massage which was a full back, arm, leg, foot and tummy massage. The next day I tried the Elemis rehydration facial which was a real treat as I am working on getting my beauty regime in better condition. The therapist actually said my skin was amazing, really glowing so something must be working!
After 4 full actioned packed days, I must say, me and Paul were left exhausted. We all loved this place so much we didn’t want to miss a second of trying something new with the kids and making some amazing memories. We will most definitely be returning next year with our new little addition.
