When it comes to hair and make up, I used to love trying new trends, tips and techniques. Over the past few years, since becoming a working mum, I have had less time to spend in front of a vanity mirror contouring and baking my face. I have a five minute make up routine (yes, I’ve timed it down to the second!) which consists of under eye concealer, translucent powder, blusher and a swipe of lip gloss. I usually have my two boys using my make up brushes as paint brushes within this time frame on our daily grind of the nursery run.
On one of my rare kiddy free and hubby free nights out, I attended Stacey Forsey’s lifestyle launch event where I met the fabulous Kunal Trehan and partner Thomas Hope and bonded over hair, make up and all things weddings, since we are all getting married. I hadn’t even thought about my wedding make up as I have found it very hard to get inspiration and ideas that works on black skin. I have also been diappointed in the past by letting make up artists loose on me who have very little experience working with ethnic skin and I end up look like a totally different version of me.
This was the moment I heard about the Artiste brand concept, where you can book your hair and make up with an experienced make up artist in the luxury of your home, hotel, venue or office desk! This concept still encapsulates the essence of high end salon style treatments but in the comfort of your own surroundings. The dynamic duo have not only worked with top media personalities, stylists and influencers but also use the most sought after luxury products, such as Balmain, creating the Balmain Blow Dry for those looking for an uber glam bouncy blow.
I was delighted to attend the launch of their new venture, the Artiste app, which was held at the opulent Menagerie restaurant on Wednesday 28th February 2018. Even the ‘Beast from the East’ didn’t stop me from donning my Jimmy Choo boots and braving the snow. We were welcomed to a champagne reception, delicious canapes and a wonderful showcase of their innovative app where both men and women, individuals and groups can choose from one of their looks; femme fatale, fearlessly flawless, the executive touch and au naturel, all showcasing the professional perfection of Artisté.
I was totally in awe of the newly appointed Brand Ambassador, Armand Beasley doing a live make up masterclass on one of the models. Armand who’s portfolio showcases works of art on the faces of Goldie Hawn, Nicole Scherzinger and Shobna Gulati to name a few. Armand has not only created a look for the app ‘Metal Guru’ but will also be available for bookings and training the make up masters on their craft.
Other models joined the team showcasing all the looks on the Artiste app; Rebelle of the Ball, Fearlessly Flawless, Femme Fetale and Red Carpet Ready.
Its was great to mingle with the guests, catch up with the team and congratulate them on the new venture. I have since booked a wedding make up trial with one of their experienced make up artist to create my ultimate bridal look!
